Jupiter (The Hierophant) - Journal
Most decks seat a pope here in a triple crown, two tonsured monks kneeling at his feet. This one has Jupiter: near naked on a bank of cloud, a thunderbolt in each hand, his eagle in the clouds below. He and Junon are the pair that replaced the Pope and the Papess, and they are what the Besançon pattern is named for. He reads in the Pape's place: the one people bring the question to, whether or not he has the answer.
Printed on the front cover of a hardcover notebook, 5.5 by 8.5 inches, 80 pages of cream-lined paper with an elastic closure and a ribbon marker. Hand-vectored from an 1891 French chromolithograph in the Besançon pattern. No auto-trace, no AI.
